Great Space Saver December 25, 2008 This is an awesome product! Gives you plenty of storage area for long trips and it is made in United States of America! The only problems, more like difficulties, were some of the assembly instructions not being clearer and being able to attach it to the rails using the U bolts on the side that it hinges. Other than that it was a great item and a worth while investment, love it!
Great buy for great price December 21, 2008 We purchased this carrier for a long distance trip. We ordered it and it arrived well within our shipping window (5 - 10 business days). I think it was even here early. We went on the trip from TN to south FL. We endured rain, super cold, heat, and a gamut of other weather conditions. Nothing got wet, the carrier worked well. The only negative was that after a long trip, it began to open towards the front. We just re-locked it and it was fine! It didn't slow us down too much and didn't effect our fuel economy too much!
I would highly recommend this product as a great buy.
Worth every penny! December 16, 2008 This is easy to assemble, easy to install, and easy to load. It holds a ton of luggage, and makes no wind noise when driving. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
SportRack review December 9, 2008 We were very happy with our SportRack - A90095 Explorer roof top carrier. We just returned from our trip to Florida with the carrier. No noise. Easy to install and remove. It held an adequate amount of luggage which helped us to be comfortable in the van without being overcrowded. It is well built, streamlined and sturdy, but flexible. It was a big help on our trip.
I liked it. November 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unlike a number of other reviewers, I did not feel the need to try to reinforce this carrier: I felt the design made it sufficiently rigid to perform it's task. We used it to travel 7 hours each way for our maiden voyage, and it worked just fine, holding a wheel chair and a bunch of luggage. Only noticed slight wind noise beginning at about 65 mph, and minor loss of mileage efficiency at the higher speeds. Looked at lots of products online. Only the low-end Thule seemed to come close in value for a utility product, and the reviews for those all talked about limited moisture penetration, whereas nobody seemed to have any problems with this unit, and the price is so much better. It's a really big box. Assembly was slightly annoying, and tightening the U-bolts on the hinge side requires a long reach. But I'm very pleased with the product. I gave it five stars because it's done exactly what I needed it to do, and the price was right. An excellent value.
