Blue Coral manufactures an excellent de-icer fluid that sprays out of the can and melts away ice almost instantly. Now that it's winter, it matters that you won't have to struggle chipping away a coat of ice from your windshield when you use Blue Coral.
In addition, the bottle comes with an ice scraper. It's not the best ice scraper but it can work rather well to remove any little bits of ice still on your windshield after you use this.
Of course, Blue Coral is an aerosol spray; the makers of this product ("Rain-X") should do better than that in order to be environmentally friendly. Don't store it in places where small kids or pets could get to it. In addition, if Blue Coral ever gets on your hands, wash them carefully to remove the de-icer fluid. It's not exactly meant to be ingested!
Sometimes when I use this product a few beads of the Blue Coral liquid combine with a bit of the water from the melted ice on the windshield. Then the liquid beads just sit there on the windshield and of course they could freeze again pretty quickly. If this happens just wipe the beads of liquid off right away using a heavy duty paper towel.
Overall, Blue Coral de-icer is a product I've used without any complaints. Now that winter is upon us I'll be using it again practically any day now.
