Prestone manufactures an excellent de-icer fluid that sprays out of the can and melts away ice almost instantly. Just as other reviewers note, you won't have to struggle chipping away a coat of ice from your windshield when you use Prestone.
In addition, the bottle comes with an ice scraper. It's not the best ice scraper but it can work rather well to remove any little bits of ice still on your windshield after you use this.
Of course, other people are right to notice that Prestone de-icer doesn't exactly smell like roses. Unfortunately, it is flammable and I would use Prestone's de-icer with care. Don't store it in places where small kids or pets could get to it. In addition, if Prestone ever gets on your hands, wash them carefully to remove the de-icer fluid. It's not exactly meant to be ingested!
Sometimes when I use this product a few beads of the Prestone liquid combine with a bit of the water from the melted ice on the windshield. Then the liquid beads just sit there on the windshield and of course they could freeze again pretty quickly. If this happens just wipe the beads of liquid off right away using a heavy duty paper towel.
Overall, Prestone de-icer is a product I've used for years without any complaints. Now that winter is upon us I'll be using it again practically any day now.

I got this stuff just to try because nothing else was really working. Now i wont use anything else. In the mornings i just walk around my car spraying the windows, i dont even have to use the scraper, and thats it i can start driving right away.
If you want to clear up your windows in a few minutes buy this.

I get about 2 cans a year (southern Ohio) and it works great. The best part is how well it works at getting the ice out of the Wiper Blades. One blast from this and all the ice just melts away.

This product is exactly what it says. It is a potent de-icing agent with a convenient plastic ice scraper built in. In reality, 9 out of 10 mornings I use this I only need the spray. The scraper is good for caked on ice like you get after a heavy blizzard or days of not operating your vehicle. It's highly flammable and you can tell by the odor that it's a petroleum based product (gas-like smell), but it works fantastic. It does NOT freeze and will penetrate the ice and snow on your glass quickly.

I couldn't believe how well this product worked. You just spray it on and you don't even have to use a scraper. Just run the windshield wipers after a few seconds and you're good to go. An excellent product for anyone who doesn't like to freeze their hands while trying to clear off their windshield, or who just doesn't have time to let the ice melt off traditionally. For the price, this product is a no brainer! It is worth every penny and then some.
