Shifts Fine! Nice color December 26, 2008
I use Red Line D4 in a Type-9 manual transmission in a Lotus Seven replica. The transmission builder strongly recommends using a heavy duty synthetic ATF in this tranny. I previously used Mobile-1 ATF, but switched to Red Line a couple of years ago. Can't say I noticed any improvement or difference from the Mobile-1 but both seem to shift smoothly with no syncro crashing. More of the Red Line seems to get past the transmission seals, but that may simply be due to aging and wear. Otherwise the Red-Line D4 seems to work well once the transmission is up to normal operating temperatures.
